Trek OCLV Road

Primary road bike
Status:Active

Description:

This is my Trek OCLV Road bike.  Notice it bears no numeration (5200, 5500, etc).  This is because Trek uses such numbers to identify component groups, and since I purchased this bike as a frameset, no components were included, and thus it was not numbered.

I built the bike in 1993 or 94 (can't remember which) and it has served me well through rain and shine ever since.  It's been through numerous tires, three saddles, 2 sets of pedals, countless chains, cassettes, and bar tape, and has had all the major components (sans headset and brakes) replaced in a recent overhaul.

The bike has around 30,000 miles on it now, most of which I accumulated while riding in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Upstate N.Y.

Update:

My original OCLV mentioned above was sent back to Trek due to the BB shell coming unbonded.  Trek promptly (and unexpectedly) replaced the frame, and the current bike is spec'd out in the table below.
